This project investigates the aesthetic synthesis involved in creating a commercial motion graphic for Central’s “Happy Best Deal” birthday campaign. The work centers on integrating illustration, motion design, and modular asset development into a cohesive visual system that supports both expressive storytelling and practical marketing needs. The project’s primary aesthetic concept is the “infinity cake,” a symbolic structure that represents continuous celebration and ongoing value for users. Although the final campaign outputs did not employ the full infinity-loop animation due to media upload constraints, the modular assets derived from this concept were effectively adapted across multiple formats, including in-store screens, app placements, and key visual materials.
The aesthetic approach focuses on clarity, rhythm, and festive visual tone, synthesizing simple shapes, controlled motion, and color cues associated with birthday themes. The modular design method played a central role in the project, enabling the creation of reusable components that maintain consistency while allowing flexible composition. This approach supports efficiency in commercial environments, where assets must be quickly reconfigured for various platforms without losing visual identity.
The project follows a practice-based methodology, using iterative sketching, asset construction, and motion testing to refine both form and function. Decisions about pacing, product emphasis, and character movement were guided by the need to balance aesthetic appeal with communicative precision. The final work demonstrates how modular aesthetics can enhance brand coherence while offering adaptability for real-world media constraints.
Overall, this project shows that aesthetic synthesis—combining metaphor, modularity, and motion—can create promotional content that is visually engaging, functionally efficient, and aligned with commercial communication objectives. The findings highlight how design systems rooted in aesthetic clarity and reusability can strengthen user engagement and support consistent brand storytelling across diverse channels.
The objective of this project is to create a clear, engaging promotional motion graphic for Central’s “Happy Best Deal” birthday campaign. The work aims to visually communicate celebration and exclusive user rewards through an animation that is simple, memorable, and aligned with the brand. The infinity cake concept is used to represent continuous value and ongoing festivity. The goal is to design modular illustration assets that can loop smoothly and be adapted across multiple formats. The project focuses on delivering a motion piece that is visually strong, efficient to produce, and effective in capturing user attention within short digital media.
The conceptual framework is based on visual metaphor, brand communication, and clarity in motion design. The infinity cake symbolizes ongoing celebration and reinforces the idea of continuous benefits in the birthday campaign. The framework applies key principles of visual communication, including simple shapes, readable composition, and consistent color logic. It also draws on motion design principles such as looping rhythm, controlled timing, and character-driven movement to enhance user engagement. The project positions animation as a communication tool that must be both visually appealing and functionally direct. The framework ensures that every design choice supports brand identity, emotional tone, and message clarity.
The project follows a practice-based methodology with a straightforward production workflow. It begins with concept exploration, reference collection, and simple sketches to establish the campaign direction. After defining the infinity cake concept, modular illustration assets are created for characters, cake elements, and products. Storyboards and motion tests guide the pacing and flow before full animation begins. The animation process uses iterative refinement, adjusting timing, readability, and product emphasis. Internal review and brand alignment checks ensure the visuals match Central’s tone and objectives. The methodology prioritizes clarity, efficient production, and the creation of loopable assets suitable for various promotional formats.
The project uses digital illustration and 2D motion graphics. Assets are created with Adobe Illustrator for clean, scalable visuals, then animated in Adobe After Effects. Techniques include looping animation, simple walk cycles, easing for smooth motion, and product reveal timing. All elements are designed as modular components to allow flexible layout and repeated use. The color palette and shapes follow Central’s brand style and the festive theme. The technical approach focuses on clarity, efficiency, and creating assets that can be easily adapted for digital platforms such as app screens, social media, and display advertisements.
The final animation delivers a clear, upbeat visual message for the “Happy Best Deal” campaign. The infinity cake concept effectively communicates continuous celebration and exclusive birthday benefits. The modular asset system works well in practice, allowing smooth loops and flexible adaptation across platforms. The animation maintains strong readability, balanced pacing, and consistent brand alignment. The character motion and product highlights enhance viewer engagement in a short runtime. Overall, the project demonstrates that simple illustration, clear motion logic, and modular design can produce an effective promotional piece that is visually appealing, easy to reuse, and well-suited for digital marketing needs.
