The accumulation of waste and the traces of human consumption have become a painful reflection of contemporary reality. This study presents the use of Cardboard & Papercraft techniques as a contemporary artistic language to convey the problems of waste and its environmental impacts through creations infused with satire, critique, and questions about the lifestyle behaviors of modern society.
Ordinary materials such as paper and cardboard are employed as symbols of consumption and decay. The simulated masses of waste are not merely worthless objects, but representations of the overflowing traces of human life in both urban and natural environments. The artworks therefore not only narrate the stories of what has been discarded but also reflect the fragility of ecosystems and the relationship between humans and the environment.
A distinctive aspect of this work is the integration of Cardboard & Papercraft techniques with AI (Artificial Intelligence), which is used to design and simulate the elements of the artwork with vitality and realism. AI functions as a “co-creator,” helping to model the movement, arrangement, and transformation of waste within diverse environmental contexts, with technological precision, speed, and complexity. The resulting creations form a dialogue among humans, machines, and nature through the language of art.
The use of AI together with Cardboard & Papercraft extends beyond the dimension of realism; it also conveys the concept of “sustainable creativity.” Simple yet meaningful materials like paper become a medium between fragility and renewal, reflecting approaches to waste reduction and balanced coexistence with nature.
Thus, this work is not merely a technical or aesthetic experiment, but an invitation for viewers to question the traces of consumption in their own lives and to recognize the impacts we leave on the world—expressed through an artistic language that is both beautiful and powerful, transforming seeing into awareness.
To reflect the issues of waste accumulation, human consumption traces, and environmental impacts, while presenting the concept of sustainable creativity and encouraging viewers to recognize the relationship between human behavior and the fragility of ecosystems, through the integration of Cardboard & Papercraft techniques with AI in the creation of contemporary art.
The conceptual framework of this work is grounded in the use of Cardboard & Papercraft techniques combined with Artificial Intelligence (AI) to create contemporary artworks that reflect and critique the issues of waste accumulation, human consumption traces, and environmental impact. It emphasizes the use of simple yet meaningful materials as symbols of consumption, decomposition, and the fragility of ecosystems. At the same time, the integration of AI enables the design and simulation of artistic elements with greater realism and complexity, reinforcing the concept of “sustainable creativity” and providing a space for viewers to question their own consumer behavior. This ultimately encourages awareness of the relationship between humans, pollution, and nature through the language of contemporary art.
This project utilizes a multi-stage process, integrating traditional Cardboard & Papercraft techniques with advanced AI-driven content generation, to produce a series of satirical video clips addressing waste accumulation and its environmental impact.
The initial phase involved conceptual development, stemming from preliminary research into waste issues and satirical art. This core message—critiquing waste through sustainable artistic methods—was translated into distinct visual narratives for video segments. Each narrative was meticulously planned to convey specific aspects of the problem, the innovative application of Cardboard & Papercraft, and the broader call for environmental awareness.
Subsequently, detailed text prompts were formulated for each video segment. These prompts explicitly guided an AI video generation model, VEO3, to produce 8-second video clips. The AI was instrumental in rendering hyper-realistic textures of cardboard and paper, simulating intricate folds, precise layering, and dynamic movements of waste, thereby actualizing the “Cardboard & Papercraft” aesthetic and the “AI-driven design and simulation” concept. This approach leveraged AI’s capability to rapidly generate detailed and complex visual compositions, ensuring the authenticity of the proposed technique.
Finally, the generated video clips will undergo a post-production phase, where they will be compiled, edited, and synchronized with an accompanying musical score, creating a cohesive and impactful

The results of this work demonstrate that the integration of Cardboard & Papercraft techniques with Artificial Intelligence effectively enhances the expressive power of contemporary art in addressing environmental concerns. By transforming simple materials into symbolic representations of consumption, decay, and ecological fragility, the artworks succeed in highlighting the growing issues of waste accumulation and human consumption patterns. The involvement of AI adds depth, realism, and complexity to the creative process, reinforcing the concept of sustainable creativity and expanding the interpretive space for viewers. Ultimately, the work encourages audiences to reflect on their own behaviors, recognize the environmental impacts they contribute to, and reconsider the relationship between humans and the natural world through an artistic lens that is both compelling and thought-provoking.
