The Suzhou Garden Virtual Tour / 2024

Mr. Le Yang / China

The Master-of-Nets Garden, in Suzhou, China, is a small Chinese classical garden. The site was designated a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1997. The garden, which measures 0.6 hectares, is considered a small classical garden. Nonetheless, it is an excellent example of Suzhou’s classical gardens. For a long time, the Master-Of-Nets Garden used traditional tourism marketing techniques such as photographs and videos. These legacy methods prevent the audience from seeing the breathtaking landscape environment. This “Suzhou Garden Virtual Tour” was created using questionnaires, expert interviews, on-site interviews, and brain wave testing methods to determine the most popular areas among its target audience. After analyzing the data, the designer recreated the areas to provide an immersive experience. The creation process used 3dsMAX for modeling and Unreal Engine 5 for scene composition. The final artwork is a realistic 360-degree animation that can be viewed with a Pico4 virtual reality headset.
