Fluid Connections

Ilaria Casula / Italy

Fluid Connections reimagines the urban landscape in Milan’s Garibaldi district, blending sports and design to create a continuous dialogue between two seemingly divided areas. The project transforms spaces into vibrant hubs of interaction, where color, movement, and play guide visitors through a seamless journey. By integrating dynamic activities and shared spaces, Fluid Connections fosters a sense of unity and community, inviting everyone to explore, connect, and engage in a revitalized urban environment.
The project is organized into three connected areas. The first is a playground centered around a vibrant orange rubber dune that encourages climbing and play, leading to a multifunctional sports court. The orange and green colors guide visitors and create a strong visual identity. The second area, on the Bussa overpass, features a running path and an interactive structure that turn the crossing into a dynamic experience. The third area, in Isola Pepe Verde, includes a community-oriented basketball court and a dog park that echoes the playful theme of the dune, bringing together sports, play, and urban connection.
