The Green Rail: A regenerative path

Ambar Nicole & Giordano De La Rosa / Dominican Republic

The project reimagines the development of the urban landscape in dialogue with nature, where infrastructure isn’t built just for human necessities, but for all users of the city. Envisions a biological system in the Garibaldi railway that connects two green spaces: Biblioteca degli Alberi and future Parco Farini, through a green belt. This system consists of the creation of 28 biotrains, 8 typologies, designed as habitats inspired by Milan’s ecological oases, additionally a green wagon, to help regenerate biodiversity in Milan. This belt would improve the connection of the citizens with nature while rehabilitating neglected urban spaces and addressing the heat island problem.
